The decade captured here traces U2’s evolution from the post-punk urgency of *Boy* and *October* through the arena-conquering anthems of *The Unforgettable Fire* and *Rattle and Hum*, a run that produced some of the most radio-defining rock of the era. Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. built their catalog through relentless touring and a sound that kept expanding, with Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois shaping much of the latter half of that stretch.

U2s first compilation release, The Best Of 1980-1990 went straight to Number 1 in the UK, Ireland, Canada and around the world on its original release in November 1998. The 16-track collection features seminal songs from early in the bands career, as well as many of their biggest global hits.
