Cultural Facts:

Family Ties: Tim Armstrongs early life included serious instability and homelessness; that lived experience is the real subtext behind the street narratives, not costume punk.
Scene Ecology: Operates as an East Bay mapGilman rules, Lookout-era networks, and the Bay-to-LA touring pipeline compressed into one bands mythology.
Media Narrative: They turned down major-label offers at the peak moment, making staying put part of the story the scene told about itself.
